ATP Chennai Open: Qualifier Aljaz Bedene to face Stan Wawrinka in Sunday's final

Qualifier Aljaz Bedene continued his giant-killing spree by producing another stunning upset in the Chennai Open to reach his first ATP Tour final.

After beating number two seed Feliciano Lopez in the second round, then fifth seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the quarter-finals, the world No 156 then ousted a third Spaniard in the semis.

Bedene came from a set down and saved two match points before beating number three seed Roberto Bautista Agut 3-6 6-3 7-6 (10/8) in a match lasting almost two and three-quarter hours.

The 25-year-old, who is hoping to secure a British passport over the next few days in a bid to represent Great Britain in the Davis Cup in March, will face Stan Wawrinka in Sunday's final.

Top seed Wawrinka needed just 90 minutes to beat fourth seed David Goffin 7-5 6-3.

The match went with serve in the opening set until Wawrinka made the all-important breakthrough in game 12, prior to then conjuring a three further breaks in the second set.
