Stan Wawrinka dumped out at Miami Open by Adrian Mannarino

Seventh seed Stan Wawrinka was shocked at the Miami Open on Sunday with a straight sets defeat by Frenchman Adrian Mannarino.
The 26-year-old Mannarino is at the top of his game right now, reaching his second straight ATP World Tour Masters 1000 fourth round, but few would have expected this 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-5) victory against the eighth seed.
Mannarino, a finalist at the Heineken Open in Auckland to open the season, is now on the verge of a career-high spot in the world's top 30 having been out of the top 100 only eight months ago.
Wawrinka was broken immediately at the start of the match and despite taking the Frenchman to two tie-breaks he rarely threatened to get a grip on the contest and eventually lost in two hours and 12 minutes.
Mannarino's third ATP World Tour quarter-final of the year is at stake when he faces Dominic Thiem.
Thiem has impressed this week at Crandon Park and the young Austrian did not disappoint in his third round clash with a 6-4 6-3 triumph over American Jack Sock in 84 minutes.
Tomas Berdych saved four match points before coming through 6-7 (4-7) 7-6 (7-3) 6-1 against Bernard Tomic and Juan Monaco beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-5 6-4.
