Home hope Johanna Larsson won the Swedish Open final with a 6-3 7-6 (7-2) victory over favourite Mona Barthel.

Larsson had previously lost two finals at the tournament in Bastad, to Polona Hercog in 2011 and then Serena Williams two years later, and was seeking her first WTA tour title.

Barthel, the fourth seed, started as favourite but Larsson was quick into her stride and out-powered the German to win the first set.
