Britain's Jamie Murray and Australian John Peers have reached the US Open men's doubles final after a tense win over Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey.
Murray and Peers endured defeat in this year's Wimbledon final, but they will have another opportunity to win a Grand Slam title after a 6-4 6-7 7-6 win over the American pairing on Thursday.
They will face Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in Saturday's final as the French duo defeated Murray's Davis Cup team-mate Dominic Inglot and Sweden's Robert Lindstedt in the earlier semi-final.
After winning the opening set, Murray and Peers dropped the second in a tie-break and appeared to be heading out when they trailed 5-2 in the deciding set tie-breaker.
But an untimely double fault by Querrey aided the duo's recovery and they produced nerveless shots at the net on the way to victory.
"Yeah, my nerves are shot," Murray told Sky Sports. "We're so happy to win and get to the final. I think we played a really high-level match - the guys came back really strong, they were serving very well.
"There weren't too many chances in the match and somehow we managed to turn it round at the end from 5-2 down and we're pumped to be in the final."
Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau ended the duo's Wimbledon title hopes in July, but Peers believes they are well prepared for another final after winning their second successive match in a tie-break.
"As Jamie said, we played a high level the whole time and both Sam and Stevie played a high level as well," said Peers.
"We've got to take that forward and we've got to take a lot of confidence from winning two third set tie-breaks. Hopefully it can go our way in the final."
