James Fanshawe's Alsace Lorraine only went down by half-a-length behind Ahla Wasahl over course and distance when last seen in September and she has every chance of going one better today but a 3lb rise for that run may prevent her from doing so and preference is for BLUE ANGEL, who gets the vote over Off Chance. Tim Easterby's filly made a pleasing return when finding only Just Bond too good on her reappearance at Haydock last month and she has solid claims off just a 1lb higher mark today. Ed Dunlop's Badiat Alzaman disappointed at Newmarket last month and looks best watched now, while Walter Swinburn's Flora Trevelyan is surely better than she showed in a listed race when last seen in October. John Gosden's Clairvoyance is less exposed than most of these after just three runs but she needs to improve to trouble the judge and of more interest may be David Simcock's First City, who showed a consistent level of form last term and ran to a similar level of form on her return at the beginning of the month. Preference though is for Richard Hannon's Blue Angel, who lost no caste in defeat on her reappearance over course and distance last month when chasing home Aviate and she can go one better today.
