Verdict

Most of these have been running on the all-weather with limited success. Sunraider has won on good to soft but is better on quicker surfaces and over an extra furlong. Our Boy Jack is eased in grade and won at Thirsk last summer. But that was over a mile and he may struggle to cope over this trip on a sharper track. Evanescent is a previous course and distance winner and now rated a pound lower but his form tailed off at the end of last year. LLEWELLYN won this when with Dandy Nicholls in 2014, beating Sunraider in the process. Well drawn for a front-runner, he can reverse February's Southwell form with Moonlight Venture back on his favourite surface.
