    Verdict

A typically competitive claimer for the course but Zarzu has enough in hand on the official figures for the race to be able to concede weight to his rivals today. The frustrating American Cousin and Cark are others to consider if supported pre-race, whilst most of those towards the bottom of the weights are inconsistent and are not hard to rule out. Karl Burke has an impressive strike-rate in races of this nature and is meticulous in his planning. Zarzu fits the ideal profile for a race of this nature and arrives here in decent form. He is capable over a variety of trips but may still be best over a fast run five for now. The pick of his form gives him the beating of most these today and any confidence in the early betting market can be taken on face value
