Verdict

The Character is no stranger to racegoers at the Roodee having won over course and distance but we prefer to be with his stablemate, CYMRO (NAP). The grey was successful in a maiden at the May meeting and though he disappointed at Epsom on his next start, he showed plenty of tenacity when bouncing back at Haydock. Racing History took apart a useful field of maidens in breathtaking fashion at the same venue in May. The going is unlikely to be quite so testing this afternoon so the form is probably best viewed with caution. Arcano Gold seldom runs a bad race and he confirmed an ability to handle the trip when placed at York. Nancy From Nairobi was narrowly balloted out of the John Smith's Cup last weekend, and with her apprentice taking off a valuable 7lb, Mick Channon's filly cannot be ruled out in this alternative engagement.
