In depth

Verdict

Sir Mark Prescott has a good record with his runners here and ELYSEES PALACE won a maiden on the track before completing a hat-trick with two victories at Newcastle. He's been running well in decent handicaps, probably finding 2m just too far at Kempton last time, and should be good enough for this. Black Label reappeared after a break to land a 2m handicap last week, his seventh success in all, and his third on the track though this looks on the short side. Georgian Bay has also won seven times including three times here since December. He was claimed after his latest success and should give new connections plenty of success at this sort of level. With A Start is still a maiden after six runs but has rarely been beaten far and his narrow defeat by Chess Grand Master over the track and trip in January is the best recent form on offer. Swiss Cottage had some reasonable form last summer but is still a maiden after 17 starts.
