Verdict

LIGHTENING STRICKS has won here twice and didn't enjoy soft ground at Cork after two fine previous runs. He looks well handicapped and is taken to get back on the winning trail. Easy Boy has a strike-rate of 1-18 and has never won here but he's on a 7lb lower mark than on Turf so must be considered along with the veteran Rigid Rock, who found a mile on heavy ground at Bellewstown too much for him last time. Eddie Lynam tries Matriarch in a visor and the three-year-old is one of the few here with scope while Universal Mind found 1m4f much too far when well backed at Wolverhampton and his supporters will be looking for compensation.
