In depth

Verdict

The ex-Royer Dupre-trained Markami has shown nothing in three ventures over hurdles and looks best watched returned to the level whilst stable companion Amantius has been absent since mid-November and is likely to need the run. Course and distance winner Miss Tiger Lily is very tempting off this mark on the best of her form but has failed to beat a single rival home on either start this season and the consistent MENELIK appeals as a far safer option for the Lee Carter team which is proving itself a very solid operation, especially on Polytrack courses. Two of his career wins have arrived at this venue and he should be nicely refreshed after a break of just under 50 days.
