Verdict

Luc Jordan will surely be popular but it could be worth taking a chance with one of HIGHWAY CODE or Laaheb. It's not a huge surprise to see Luc Jordan remain in maiden company as a mark of 79 appears stiff enough on the basis of what he has achieved thus far. He failed to take a step forwards at Redcar on his most recent outing and mightn't have too much scope for further improvement. He tackles an extra quarter of a mile which could suit if he has inherited any stamina from his dam. Adnams was nibbled at in the market ahead of debut and showed ability; he should improve for the step up in trip and isn't dismissed. Neither is Buckie Boy who paid the price for getting embroiled in a battle for the lead at Windsor before being carried wide; he's better judged on his second at Sandown where he enjoyed a soft lead. Bomber Brown reared as the stalls opened on his return and is capable of better as is Freedom Fire who should benefit for the move up to middle distances. Laaheb could leave his debut form behind with his yard having hit form with a vengeance and we'll be hoping that the selection can do the same. He was well held in a Sandown maiden where he paid the price for racing too freely. He attracted support, can be rated better than the bare form whilst the form of the race was given a boost when the twelfth home won at Salisbury on Sunday so maybe Highway Code can follow suit.
