Verdict

ROYAL WILLY may be able to rise to the occasion and is put forward ahead of Mykingdomforahorse and Three Ducks. William Jarvis endured a slow start to the season having had to close the doors to his stable following an outbreak of strangles but the signs have been more encouraging over the past few weeks. This colt showed little on his handicap bow having shown up quite well in well contested maidens but there was more to like about his latest effort and he looks capable of opening his account. Three Ducks has struggled since landing her maiden but has been dropped in the weights accordingly and could yet bounce back to form; the market may provide the best guide. Mykingdomforahorse opened his account at this venue and should be in the shake-up having posted a decent effort at Goodwood last month but the fact that he's raced three times in a visor suggests that he may not be the most straightforward. This is a more realistic assignment for Moon Lightning who shouldn't be ruled out whilst cases can also be made for Ocean Countess, Chantilly Dancer and Transformer but Royal Willy can take the honours.
