The Reds have signed twins Anthony and Saia Faingaa from the Brumbies on a two-year deal through to the end of 2010.

Duo opt to swap Brumbies for Queensland

The Reds have signed twins Anthony and Saia Faingaa from the Brumbies on a two-year deal through to the end of 2010. Reds performance manager Ben Whitaker said the 21-year old Faingaa brothers - inside centre Anthony and hooker Saia - were two of the most exciting young talents in Australian rugby. "[Reds head coach] Phil Mooney and [forwards coach] Mark Bell already know the boys well from their involvement in the World Championship-winning Australian Under 19s in 2006, where Saia was the captain and Anthony the vice-captain," Whitaker said. "We expect them to fit in pretty quickly next year and will be looking forward to making them welcome. "We believe the Reds' program will further develop their talents and ultimately help them reach their full potential.

Fabulous

"Anthony and Saia love to just get out there and play footy - Their attitude is fabulous and we really believe Reds fans will warm to them." Anthony said having been coached before by Mooney and Bell played a significant part in his and his brother's decision to leave Canberra. "The coaching staff at the Reds was definitely a big influence," Anthony said. "We enjoyed our experience in the Under-19s under Phil and Mark and feel they can teach us so much. We also like the family atmosphere that they're creating at the Reds."
