Wasps director of rugby Ian McGeechan refused to criticise the Rugby Football Union's decision to ban James Haskell for one game.
Haskell was handed the sanction by RFU disciplinary chief Jeff Blackett after being cited and found guilty of striking an opponent with his head during Wasps' 11-10 loss to Worcester on September 14.
Blackett, however, took the unusual step of
criticising both the referee and the citing officer for their handling of the match.
He was unhappy that Leicestershire official Martin Fox and citing officer Matt Bayliss both took no action against Worcester's Greg Rawlinson and Tom Wood for their part in the lead-up to the incident that led to Haskell's suspension.
"I thought the hearing was very fair and it (the verdict) was very well explained," McGeechan told
Sky Sports News.
"There were mistakes made in the process itself (but) it was a very fair review and a very fair outcome.
"I have no complaints at all about the way it was done - I thought it was done very well."
Haskell's suspension means he will miss Wasps' Guinness Premiership fixture against Leicester on September 26.
His team-mate Richard Birkett is free to play after avoiding a suspension for stamping in the same game.
The lock was cited for the incident but received only a reprimand and a warning about his future behaviour.
