South Africa flanker wants to remain at the Stormers

South Africa flanker Schalk Burger has insisted that he is not interested in a move to Saracens. The Stormers ace has been contacted by Saracens-bound Brendan Venter, who will take over the reins at Vicarage Road in the summer, about joining him at Guinness Premiership outfit. However Burger, who is one of a number of South Africans who have been approached by Venter, is set to turn down the offer as he does not want to put his place in the Springboks side in jeopardy. "I am with the Stormers until the end of the year," he told Die Burger newspaper. "I want to play my rugby here. There are big Tests coming up against the British and Irish Lions, as well as a Tri-Nations "I would like to play in South Africa and for the Springboks for as long as possible. If I want to do that, I probably can't go overseas." Venter, who has been the defence consultant at the Stormers, has already signed loose forward Justin Melch, while Jean de Villiers, Schalk Brits, Conrad Jantjes, Ethienne Reynecke and Anton van Zyl are among those thought to have also been approached.
