Ospreys hooker ruled out for five months

Ospreys hooker Ed Shervington is set to be sidelined for five months after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles. Shervington suffered the injury against Glasgow and is now unlikely to return to action until the autumn. Shervington's fellow hooker Huw Bennett has also gone under the knife to clear up a shoulder injury however he is expected to fit for the start of the new season. "Huw has had a minor procedure for a shoulder problem that won't interfere with his pre-season," Ospreys physio Chris Towers told the club's official site. "He will rehabilitate over the next month and then commence pre-season as normal with the rest of the squad at the end of June. "Ed ruptured his Achilles tendon in the Glasgow match and has subsequently had the damage repaired. The prediction is that he will face a five-month rehabilitation from the operation that should see him playing again in the autumn."
