Cherry and Whites sign threesome for two more years

Young Gloucester trio Rupert Harden, Shaun Knight and Yann Thomas have all penned new two-year deals with the Guinness Premiership club. Knight, 20, and Thomas, 19, have both come through the Gloucester academy and have featured in the first team squad. Loosehead Thomas has been included in the match-day squad several times this season, making his first start in the LV= Cup clash against Worcester Warriors in January. Knight, who started at tighthead for England Under-20s over the course of this year's RBS Six Nations, also made his first team debut from the bench in the Worcester match.

Move

Harden moved to Kingsholm from Tynedale last summer and is a product of the Newcastle Falcons academy. The 24-year-old tighthead has played for Moseley in the Championship this season but has also made five appearances in Gloucester's first team. Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath is pleased to retain the promising young talent in his squad. He said: "The front row is always a key area for any club to get right, and in Rupert, Shaun and Yann we've got three of the best young props in the country to come through and support the first XV."
