Captain insists he will be at Headingley nex season

Leeds have been given a boost ahead of their relegation showdown with Worcester after captain Marco Wentzel insisted he would stay at Headingley regardless of the result. Both Leeds and Worcester are desperate to beat the drop, with victory on Sunday going a long way to decide who will go down. Wentzel, though, has insisted he will stay loyal to the club even if they are relegated at the end of the season. Wentzel, who joined Leeds from Leicester Tigers in the summer, said: "We have put ourselves in a great position with our win at London Irish. I was immensely proud of the team on Sunday because of the effort and commitment they showed for one another when most people did not give us a chance. "I signed a two-year contract with Leeds when I moved here because I believed in the things that Andy Key and Neil Back are trying to do here. We do not want to be playing in the Championship next season and our fate is in our own hands. "We have a massive game on Sunday against Worcester and hopefully we will have a big crowd behind us because I know it means a lot to a lot of people that we stay up. "We have faced some tough challenges and it will be the same on Sunday against a Worcester side who are fighting for their lives. However, we are at home and we want to produce another performance that we, and the fans, can be proud of." Leeds are six points clear of bottom club Worcester with two games to play, with Sale and Newcastle also involved in the scrap to avoid the drop.
