Experienced fly-half replaces Slade

Experienced fly-half Matt Berquist has agreed to join to Crusaders from the Highlanders. With Colin Slade having opted to move to Otago, Berquist will come in and provide competition to Dan Carter. Head coach Todd Blackadder said: "We are very happy to have secured Matt for next season. "Matt is a very good all-round player and an excellent goal-kicker. We're sure he will fit in at the Crusaders very well." The Crusaders have also agreed new deals with wing Zac Guildford and half-back Kahn Fotuali'I ahead of the expanded Super 15 season. "Both Zac and Kahn played very well for the Crusaders last season," added Blackadder. "It was Zac's first season with us and he impressed me with his work ethic and ability. Kahn has been with us since 2007 and he had a stand-out year last year."
