Club legend heads Northampton departures

Northampton have confirmed long-serving back Bruce Reihana has agreed a deal to join Bordeaux. The popular New Zealander has scored 1,032 points in 235 appearances for the Saints since arriving at the club in 2003. However the 35-year-old will now head to the ambitious French club, who will won the ProD2 play-off this season to secure their return to the Top 14. Northampton have also revealed Regardt Dreyer and Matt Cornwell will follow Reihana, Mark Easter (Sale), Joe Ansbro (London Irish), Shane Geraghty (Brive) and Dan Sanderson (Moseley) in leaving Franklin's Gardens. Director of rugby Jim Mallinder said: "Some of the players who are leaving have been here for a short period, others for much longer. Regardless, they have all contributed to the team's development over the past few seasons. "A squad is not just about the 23 players who represent the club on match day. It is about what happens during the week away from public view, and the positive atmosphere that we have had at Franklin's Gardens is in no small part down to the contributions that every player makes in the changing room and on the training field. "On behalf of all the coaches I would like to thank every player who is leaving for their contributions during their time at the club, and wish them all the best for the future."
