Camacho: We'll never give up

Argentina winger Gonzalo Camacho insists Exeter will "never give in" as they look to gate-crash the Aviva Premiership play-offs. Having enjoyed an impressive first season in the top-flight after finishing eighth, the Chiefs have built on those foundations this time around and are currently just one point off the play-off places. In fact they could have already secured their place if they had beaten Northampton last time out - but that 18-15 defeat means Exeter now need to beat defending champions Saracens and hope Worcester can do them a favour against the Saints in the final round of fixtures. However the 27-year-old Camacho, whose form at the end of the business of the season has earned him the March Gatorade Game Changer award, insists that the Chiefs will keep on fighting despite the setback against Northampton. "It has been a great season for ourselves and to be in with a chance of making the play-offs is massive," Camacho told Sky Sports.

Enthusiasm

"We are looking forward now to one more chance of making the play-offs. We know it will be tough against Saracens but it is great to be in this position and we will look to bring back the result we need. "Worcester play some really good rugby. They are a strong and physical side so hopefully they can do well against Northampton for us. "Saracens, though, are very physical too and play with great enthusiasm. They have something to play for as well as they want to get a home play-off. It is going to be a massive game but whatever happens it has been a great campaign. "They are the champions and it will be very hard for us to win but we believe we can. "You can see from our results all year that we never give in. We will play to the last second of the last match and we will give everything we have got looking for the win." Camacho, who scored the winning try for Harlequins in last year's Amlin Challenge Cup final before moving to Sandy Park, believes Exeter have the mental fortitude to secure the win. "We have a real enthusiasm for the game," said Camacho, who will miss the game against Saracens after he was banned for three weeks. "Our outlook on the game is to play with determination.
Massive
"First off, though, we play against ourselves so that we can win the mental battles in the mind." Camacho, who was born in Buenos Aries, has made 14 appearances for Exeter and his form for the club should see him in the mix to play in the inaugural Rugby Championship for Argentina. And the new-look tournament, which sees the Pumas take on World Cup holders New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, is something he is looking forward to. "This will be a massive occasion for Argentina," he added. "It will be a chance to see how we have improved. "It is great for the country to go up against the best teams in the world." Gonzalo Camacho was talking to skysports.com at the presentation of the March Gatorade Game Changer award. Gatorade is an official performance partner of Premiership Rugby.
