Wales scrum-half Rhys Webb could return at the end of February according to medical experts at the Ospreys.

Webb was ruled out of the World Cup last autumn after he suffered a serious foot injury during the final warm-up game against Italy in Cardiff.

Wales will begin their RBS 6 Nations campaign against Ireland on February 7 and, while Webb will not be available for the Dublin match, it seems he may be able to return for one of the later fixtures.

In a statement issued by the Ospreys, their medical performance manager Chris Towers said: "His recovery is going well and we are now concentrating on getting him to the physical level he needs to be at in order to perform as we want.

"He has begun running again, started doing some skills work, and the focus is on getting him available for selection at the end of February, which would be five months post-op."

With Webb on the sidelines for the World Cup, Gareth Davies played at number nine for the Welsh and performed well as they reached the quarter finals, before losing to South Africa.
