World Cup winner Will Greenwood says the current England squad are starting to feel like they are invincible.
Since Eddie Jones took over as head coach, England have won 21 of 22 Tests, losing once to Ireland, and they have added wins over Argentina and Samoa to their record this month.
They will be hot favourites to complete a clean sweep of their autumn matches against Samoa at Twickenham this Saturday and Sky Sports pundit Greenwood thinks they are in great shape ahead of the 2019 World Cup.
"England keep marching on and it's an amazing place," said Greenwood.
"I was allowed to go in and watch a bit of training on Monday. You just got this vibe, this sense, a happy atmosphere,
"In a very positive but not an arrogant way, they don't believe they can lose to anyone
"And when you find yourself in that sort of environment, it is a pretty cool place to be."
Asked if England were closing the gap on world champions New Zealand, Greenwood said: "The England players don't believe there is a gap, Eddie Jones doesn't believe there is a gap.
"They wouldn't trumpet it but, if you asked any of these England lads privately 'would you beat New Zealand in a one-off Test tomorrow', 100 per cent of them would say 'yes, we would beat them'."
Regarding Saturday's match, Greenwood expects a string of young England forwards to get an opportunity.
He said: "I think it is likely Ellis Genge might get another run-out, the Leicester loosehead, because I hope Mako Vunipola gets a rest.
"We know he is one of the best looseheads in the world.
"Harry Williams, the Exeter tight head, may get a run. Eddie Jones has talked about a lack of depth behind Dan Cole.
"In the second row we are blessed with riches. (Maro) Itoje will probably play in the back row, so I think Charlie Ewels will get a run-out and Nick Isiekwe, who is an athletic freak from Saracens.
"And [Exeter No 8] Sam Simmonds is taking advantage of the fact Billy Vunipoloa and Nathan Hughes are injured.
"Sam is a like a pocket rocket compared to the others and he will enjoy this game.
"Eddie (Jones) says he has 24 out of 31 in his mind for Tokyo - so there are seven spots up for grabs."
