Scarlets flanker James Davies says he does not know what he has to do to make the Wales team, but won't change who he is.
Flanker Davies has been outstanding for Scarlets but was the standout omission when Robin McBryde named his squad to face Tonga and Samoa in June.
Martyn Wiliams, who knows a thing or two about back row play, called him the best Welsh player at regional level for the last two years, and Davies underlined that with a massive performance to help the Scarlets win the PRO12 trophy against Munster on Saturday.
"Not really, No," was the reply, when asked if Wales has spoken to him about what they want to see from him.
"I don't want to say too much but if my personality does not fit, then that is the way it is - I am not going to change my personality for a few caps.
"I think you can see what I do for the Scarlets week in, week out; I play for the boys and that will never change.
"That is the pinnacle to play for your country but if it does not come, then it doesn't come - it is not going to change the way I play for the Scarlets. I give my all every game, so it is just the way it is."
