England prop Joe Marler extends contract with Harlequins

England prop Joe Marler has signed an extended contract with Aviva Premiership side Harlequins.

The 25-year-old loosehead came through the academy ranks at the Twickenham Stoop and has been a regular member of Quins first-team squad since his debut in 2009.

Marler secured his first senior cap for England the following year and has gone on to represent his country on 37 occasions. He was also part of the Rugby World Cup squad last year.

"After a tough 2014/15 season, both personally and as a team, I took some time to think about my future. It quickly dawned on me that this is exactly where I want to be. Being part of a team is not just about winning," said Marler.

"I'm a Quin and I love everything about the club. I'm excited for every time I put on the famous quartered shirt and represent this team."
