Bath have signed Gloucester lock Elliott Stooke, who will join up with his new club at the end of the season.

Stooke, 22, has played for England throughout the various age groups, and was given his first call-up to the England Saxons squad in 2014

He has played 70 times for Gloucester, impressing Bath coach Mike Ford.

Ford told Bath's website: "Elliott is a powerful athlete and we're looking forward to seeing him continue his development with us here at Bath.

"He has a great skillset for a young player, along with a great attitude, and I have no doubt he'll fit into the Club really well."

Stooke said: "It's been a hard decision to make, but I'm really excited about the move to Bath.

"They're an ambitious club, and the coaches work incredibly hard to help develop each individual player at the same time as making sure the team is growing. It's a hugely talented squad to join up with, and it is a great environment for a young player like myself to be part of.

"I'd like to thank everyone associated with Gloucester for the support they have given me over the years, and I'll be making sure I do all I can to play my part to make the rest of this season successful before I leave."
