Saracens have won the Premiership Rugby BreakThru Award in a glittering ceremony at the House of Commons.

The prestigious award was presented to the Saracens Sports Foundation programme, for their work with disabled youngsters within the community which promotes social change and is sponsored by car dealership Alan Day VW.

Every week, the programme is run for youngsters aged 11-19 with physical disabilities at Allianz Park in Hendon, with the focus on improving their health, mental wellbeing and to create greater opportunities in the community.

"Sarrie's RFC is in a fantastic place and would like to take this great opportunity to thank the proud and passionate sponsors, Alan Day VW," Tomas Gamage, Saracens Sports Development Officer, said.

"Managing Director Paul Tanner and his staff turn up every Monday and volunteer with the team and add so much to the development of each individual at Sarrie's RFC.

"This season is going to be a big one for Saracens and equally as big for Sarrie's RFC with an end of season tour to plan and preseason to knuckle down for."

Jane Ellison, Minister for Public Health, praised Saracens for their work in the community.
