Glasgow and Scotland centre Richie Vernon has been ruled out for "a few months" after undergoing shoulder surgery.
The Warriors are hopeful Vernon, who played for Scotland during the World Cup, will return to action before the end of the season.
Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "We're disappointed to lose Richie for the next few months.
"He failed to progress as expected, so in the end an operation was required, which will keep him out for most of the season. We wish him all the best with his recovery."
