Sean Lamont to stay at Glasgow Warriors for another season

Experienced winger Sean Lamont will be staying with Glasgow Warriors for the 2016/17 season after signing a new one-year deal.

Capped 104 times by Scotland, Lamont is now closing in on 100 appearances for Glasgow, having played 98 times over the course of two spells with the Warriors, who triumphed in the PRO12 last season.

The 35-year-old told the club's website: "I'm delighted to sign for another year at the Warriors.

"I feel I've still got more to give and I'm enjoying being part of a winning team.

"I want to keep on playing and I'm glad I get to extend my time at a club which I really enjoy representing."

Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend added: "Sean is a great role model of how to look after yourself physically and play at a consistently high level throughout a season.

"He's always said he'd like to keep on playing which is great, as the desire to keep improving and enthusiasm to play the game are vital components of performing well.

"He's shown that his motivation levels are just as high as ever and his rugby ability is clear for all to see.
