Montpellier's Aaron Cruden out of Leinster clash with thigh injury

Former All Black fly-half Aaron Cruden will miss Montpellier’s opening Champions Cup clash with Leinster on Saturday because of a thigh injury.

Leinster host Montpellier in Dublin, live on Sky Sports Action, and their cause will be helped by the fly-half's absence.

Cruden, who has won 50 caps for New Zealand, was on his way back from a rib problem when he sustained a thigh injury in training on Thursday.

Montpellier will be forced to overhaul their backline with South African international Francois Steyn a candidate to move to fly-half.
