Newport Gwent Dragons skipper Lewis Evans has agreed a new contract with the Welsh region.
The 29-year-old flanker, who is closing in on his 200th appearance for the Dragons, is a product of the club's underage system and made his debut in 2006.
"It's a place that I have called home for over 10 years and it looks like I will be spending my whole career here, which is something that I am very proud of," said Evans.
"I am a Gwent man and it's a special place for me. I feel that the next three years are going to be the best three years yet, and I look forward to these coming years and the challenges that lie ahead."
Evans admits he had offers to leave the Dragons over the years but remains committed to his hometown club.
He said: "For some time now I have believed that we are close to achieving something special and I genuinely believe that going forward we can push this region to where it should be with the right players and coaches involved."
Dragons head coach Kingsley Jones added: "Loyalty seems to be becoming a rarity in the modern professional game which makes it all the more pleasing that Lewis has decided to commit further to the region after 10 years of service.
"He has been an exceptional player for the Dragons, covering across the back row, and I feel the next few years will see Lewis play his best rugby. He has grown as a leader and his game understanding is second to none.
"I look forward to working closely with him over the coming seasons."
Evans is the sixth Dragons player to extend his contract with Hallam Amos, Rynard Landman, Brok Harris, Nic Cudd and Ed Jackson all remaining with the club.
