Sally Bolton quits 2017 World Athletics Championships organising committee

The London 2017 World Athletics Championships organising committee has been rocked by a third resignation in less than a week.
Managing director Sally Bolton is the latest official to leave her post, following last week's resignations of deputy chair Heather Hancock and audit committee chair Martin Stewart.
Bolton, who joined the organisation in 2014, did not give a reason for her decision but there have been widespread reports in the press of differences between the board and London 2017 chairman Ed Warner, who is also chairman of UK Athletics.
"I'm incredibly proud of the work that has been completed in achieving the early milestones that lay the foundations for the event's success," said Bolton.
"I wish the team well in what is going to be an exciting 18 months, and I look forward to seeing some amazing sport take place at next year's championships."
The World Championships is the flagship event for the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) which is currently battling to restore the sport's image following allegations of corruption and systematic drug abuse.
