Life continues to be really good for me! I have had a really good solid block of winter training and I am really happy as I have stayed fit and healthy for the whole time.
I know that I have become significantly stronger over the last few months with all the strength and endurance training I have been doing and this should hold me in really good stead once I start competing again. I am starting to think about indoor competitions, which I am really excited about, and I am also hoping to go to the IPC Grand Prix in Dubai in February.
Next week I am off to Tenerife with my family to train in the sun, which I am really looking forward to. My cerebral palsy is definitely more troublesome in the winter so I find it really helpful. It will also be great to get away from this miserable British weather for a few days!
I have also been quite busy giving talks to school children. I gave a talk and presented awards at the Hampshire Duke of Edinburgh awards evening which was fun. I also did a similar thing at Worthing High School Leavers evening which was also great fun.
I really enjoy going back into schools and sharing the ideas that anything is possible and that dreams can come true with hard work and determination. Last week I went to Loughborough where I had some cardiac testing done by CRY - everything was normal which was good to know!
Yesterday I had a fantastic afternoon at the official opening of the new Sky Academy Building. The building is incredible and Sky are doing such a great job inspiring young people like myself.
It was really fun to spend the afternoon with my fellow scholars Louis and Jack and to meet HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, who were at Sky officially opening the new building and switching on the Christmas lights. The whole afternoon made me feel so privileged and proud to be part of the Sky Academy.
