Tyson Fury will not be stripped of his world titles after pulling out of his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, claims the heavyweight's trainer and uncle Peter.
Fury was due to defend his WBA and WBO belts against the Ukrainian on October 29, but the fight was called off for a second time after his management team declared he was "medically unfit to fight".
The undefeated 28-year-old, who withdrew from the original July 9 date due to an ankle injury, could now lose his titles which he won when he ended Klitschko's 11-year reign at the top in November last year.
However, Peter Fury claims Tyson will keep his titles as he should not be held responsible for his current health issues.
"With Tyson's condition, he cannot be held culpable," tweeted Peter. "Detailed statement coming soon on health. He will not and should not be stripped of belts.
"Belts will be determined by the right legal process. In the meantime, singing in the rain fits the bill of today."
Klitschko also took to Twitter to express his disappointment and added that he is looking to move on from Fury.
"Disappointed that Fury cancelled the fight for a second time," he tweeted.
"I am in top shape and would have loved to retrieve my world championship belts."
Klitschko, whose defeat to Fury was only his fourth in 68 fights, added in a video message for his fans.
"Hi guys as you already know October 29th revenge against Fury is cancelled due to whatever issue this time Fury has.
"Screwed, I will move forward and will keep you posted when and against whom my next fight will be staged.
"I will rely on information from the sanctioning bodies how they will move on with the titles that Fury currently has.
"I will keep you posted."
