Luis 'King Kong' Ortiz and Malik Scott shared an uneasy silence when they went head to head after the weigh-in for Saturday's heavyweight showdown.
There is plenty at stake for Ortiz and Scott, with the winner edging closer to a world title shot, and both fighters looked in good condition on the scales ahead of this weekend's crucial meeting in Monte Carlo, live on Sky Sports.
Scott shouted confidently after his weight of 17st 8lbs 4ozs was read out by MC Jimmy Lennon Jr, while Ortiz simply flexed his muscles as he came in at 17st 1lb 5ozs.
The unbeaten Cuban fixed Scott with an icy stare when they posed for pictures and the American gave a simple nod in response before both men turned their gaze away.
On an exciting undercard, the British trio of Stephen Smith, Jamie McDonnell and Martin Murray all made weight for their fights.
Smith, who challenges Jason Sosa for the WBA super-featherweight belt, was bang on the limit at 9st 4lbs.
McDonnell also made the bantamweight mark at 8st 6lbs for his WBA title defence and displayed his height advantage over challenger Liborio Solis as they stood on the stage.
Murray has seen two opponents pull out of his scheduled fight and weighed 11st 13lbs 7ozs for his super-middleweight bout with replacement Nuhu Lawal.
Watch Luis Ortiz v Malik Scott on the Monte Carlo card, including Martin Murray, Jamie McDonnell and Stephen Smith, from 7pm, Saturday, live on Sky Sports 2.
