Ian Lewison has promised to inflict a "beat down" on David Allen if his British heavyweight rival stays on course for a domestic clash this year.

The Londoner has welcomed a verbal challenge from Allen and hopes the 'White Rhino' claims victory on the undercard of Gavin McDonnell's world title fight with Rey Vargas this Saturday night, live on Sky Sports.

Allen, who faces Lukasz Rusiewicz at Hull Ice Arena, is hoping to put his career firmly back on track after defeats to Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz, but Lewison has vowed to deliver another setback with a brutal defeat.

"When I get him in there I will do what Dillian couldn't do," Lewison told Sky Sports. "I will stop him, because I will go in there 100 per cent fit and I will genuinely put a beat down on him. I would love for the whole world to view the systematic beat down that I'm going to give him.

"Prepare well and do a lot of neck exercises mate, because you are going to need that chin to take what I'm going to give. Get fit and 100 per cent get the win this weekend, so I can beat you down."

Lewison insists he holds no personal animosity towards Allen, despite recent light-hearted comments from the 24-year-old, and simply wants to provide a memorable fight.

"People say certain things about me, it doesn't make it true, it's just a matter of perception," said Lewison.

"He can portray whatever he wants to portray, a joker that's the image that he's taken upon himself.

"As a person, I haven't got any animosity towards him, because it's not like that. He's a fighter and I'm a fighter, we both want to make some good fights for the public."

The Brixton man's bid for a British title was ended by a stoppage defeat against Whyte last October, but Lewison admits he has adopted a more committed approach to the sport since that loss.

"It was a legitimate stoppage in the sense of the damage sustained," said the 35-year-old. "I don't feel as though he genuinely did stop me.

"If I had more time, it 100 per cent would have been a different fight. The fight I put up in the condition I was in, imagine if I was in a little better condition with a little bit more time. I would put up a much better fight."
