NXTGEN: Natasha Jonas started her professional career with a first round stoppage win

Natasha Jonas marked her professional debut with an impressive first-round stoppage of Monika Antonik in Newcastle.
The former Team GB fighter has joined Katie Taylor in the paid ranks and fuelled talk of a future showdown with her Irish rival after a ruthless early victory on the NXTGEN bill.
Jonas unloaded sharp left hands from her southpaw stance in the opening minute and she soon showed her power as a sharp right hook sent Antonik wobbling back to the ropes.
Sensing an early finish, Jonas pounced on her dazed Polish opponent, and another right hook stiffened the legs of Antonik before a straight left prompted the referee to step in.
Jonas, who has linked up with trainer Joe Gallagher, was delighted with her first pro victory and admits there is public demand for a meeting with Taylor.
"It's all down to hard work with Joe and myself," Jonas told Sky Sports.
"Together we have put in the hard work and there is the result.
"It's what the people want to see, but she's on her journey and I'm on my journey. If it means we meet at the end, then we meet at the end."
