Darren Barker says David Allen versus David Price has a one-per-cent chance of going the distance

Darren Barker believes David Allen must use his boxing brain when he faces David Price as their heavyweight summer showdown has only "a one-per-cent chance" of going the distance.

Allen takes on Price on the undercard of Dillian Whyte-Oscar Rivas at The O2 on July 20, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Barker told Sky Sports: "Dave (Allen) is a really, really good fighter. He's been playing it down a bit but I've seen him do some impressive things in the gym. He moves his head fast, he moves very well, he's got a good boxing brain.

"But sometimes a fighter's main asset can be their downfall and Dave's durability, his chin; sometimes he likes to use it to wear opponents down and that will only take you so far, you can't be prepared to take big shots, and with David Price the likelihood is you won't be standing.

"I want him to use his brain a bit more and box. If he can do what I've seen him do in the gym, who knows how far he can go? It's the heavyweight division, you just don't know.

Dave will be fit enough to go the distance, as he was last time out, but I cannot see it going 12 rounds.

"You would have to re-evaluate your career and take a good, long think about where you would want to go because it would be tough to rebuild from this fight," he said.

"That's why I make this fight so exciting because the loser doesn't have really anywhere to go."
