Daniel Jacobs is confident that he can upset the odds and beat Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez on Cinco de Mayo weekend in Las Vegas

Daniel Jacobs has warned Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez to be prepared for a big upset this weekend in Las Vegas.

Jacobs will bid to add the Mexican's WBC and WBA 'Super' middleweight titles to his own IBF belt at the T-Mobile Arena in the early hours of Sunday morning, live on Sky Sports.

The New Yorker, who earlier in his career spent 19 months out of the ring battling cancer, believes victory over the Mexican superstar will be his reward for never giving up in life.

"This is the pinnacle. Obviously it doesn't get any bigger than fighting 'Canelo' Alvarez, who is probably one of the best middleweights in the world," Jacobs told Sky Sports.

"To have this opportunity, after all I've gone through in my life, shows that when you are dedicated, when you don't ever, ever give up, anything is possible and I'm looking forward to accomplishing my dreams on Saturday night.

"I think he's special, but styles makes fights. You can be special against all your past opponents, especially when you're the bigger guy and when you're a power puncher in your respected division - but now he's coming up to the big boys.

"Now he's facing Daniel Jacobs, who is not going to lay down, who is in his prime, who is young, who is hungry, who has the mental capacity to go in there and not lay down.

"That's what he's going to be stacked up against and I'm just so excited to have this opportunity, because you guys are going to see the best Daniel Jacobs yet.

"Anything is possible in the sport of boxing. You never know, he might not be able to get past my jab. I can use my jab all night but if somehow he manages to get inside, I'll have to go to a different style, or a different game plan.

"We have so many different game plans and that's the beautiful thing about what I display. I have not only the gut and determination but I have the skill and we're going to put everything together on Saturday night, and Canelo Alvarez is in for a big upset."
