Sergey Kovalev aims for Adonis Stevenson showdown

Sergey Kovalev wants to risk all in a light-heavyweight unification battle with Adonis Stevenson - but is not convinced his rival feels the same.
The Russian defends his WBO, WBA and IBF belts against Nadjib Mohammedi in Las Vegas on Saturday and has bigger plans for the future.
These involve adding Stevenson's WBC strap to his collection but Kovalev does not believe his Haiti-born southpaw rival would be up for the scrap.
Any boxing fight to me is like a street fight because you don’t know what can happen.
“I’m ready to fight Stevenson but he doesn’t want to fight me,” he told The Ring.
“I want to give the fans a fight that they have waited for a long time.”
Kovalev puts his titles and undefeated record on the line against Frenchman Mohammedi this weekend and sees the match-up as another step towards achieving his ambitions in the sport.
Despite his stellar record and various accolades, the 32-year-old feels he has much left to attain and continues to adopt a primal approach to every bout.
“Any boxing fight to me is like a street fight because you don’t know what can happen,” he said. “Every fighter is dangerous and I train to get better every single day.
“I would like to still be champion as long as possible. I have not achieved all my goals in my career yet. My amateur career didn't give me a lot of opportunities.
“Some of my dreams in boxing are not finished.”
