Australia have added Shaun Marsh to their squad for the rescheduled first Test against India.

The Western Australia batsman - dismissed for a pair of ducks in the most recent of his nine Tests against South Africa in February - joins brother Mitch Marsh in the squad.

If both are selected for the match in Adelaide, the pair would become the first set of brothers to play Test cricket for Australia since Steve and Mark Waugh in 2002.

A Cricket Australia statement confirmed: "The national selection panel has today advised that West Australian Shaun Marsh has been added to the Test squad as an additional batsman for the first Commonwealth Bank Test.

"The Australian Test squad will assemble in Adelaide (on Thursday and Friday) ahead of the first Test starting on Tuesday 9 December."

The squad will train together on Friday for the first time since the death of Phillip Hughes and coach Darren Lehmann has already said that it might be too soon for some of his players to return to action.

Michael Clarke, who gave an emotional address at Hughes’ funeral on Wednesday, remains a doubt for the Test as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
