Ben Stokes has been named in England's 15-man squad for the five-match one-day international series against New Zealand.

Stokes has not played for his country since an incident outside a Bristol nightclub in September but is due to rejoin the limited-overs squad in New Zealand after appearing at Bristol Magistrates' Court on a charge of affray on February 13.

His involvement is subject to any court obligations and his travel arrangements are yet to be confirmed, the England and Wales Cricket Board said.

England have performed well in limited overs cricket in Stokes' absence, with Sunday's 12-run victory in Perth securing a 4-1 one-day international series win against Australia.

Nottinghamshire paceman Jake Ball drops out after making the 16-man ODI squad that won the series against Australia.

Test captain Joe Root will also return to action in the series, which gets underway on February 25 live on Sky Sports, after being rested for the upcoming Twenty20 series against Australia and New Zealand.
