New Zealand's Jimmy Neesham provided some late fireworks against Sri Lanka, notching up 34 runs off one over including five sixes!

James Neesham displayed all his power on his return to New Zealand's ODI side by smashing five sixes in an over!

Watch Neesham's onslaught against Sri Lanka seamer Thisara Perera in the video above.

The all-rounder, playing his first ODI since June 2017, clobbered Perera into the stands from five successive legal deliveries before being limited to a single from the last ball of a 34-run 49th over in the first ODI in Tauranga.

Neesham, who ended up unbeaten on 47 from 13 balls, flogged Perera over cow corner twice, then back over his head, before sailing over cow corner again for four sixes in a row at Bay Oval.

A flustered Perera then served up a full toss above waist height which Neesham struck to mid-off for two - before the 28-year-old blazed the subsequent free hit onto the stadium roof!

The six blitz ended on the final ball with Neesham skewing to midwicket on the slog - still, he ended the over on 36 having begun it on three!

Neesham may well have cracked the fastest ODI half-century had he had more time, with his sixth and final six coming from the final ball of the innings when he nailed Nuwan Pradeep over cover.
