Ed Smith set to become new ECB senior selector

Former England batsman Ed Smith is set to become the ECB's new senior selector, Sky Sports News understands.
Smith, who played for Kent and Middlesex, will replace head selector James Whitaker and lead a team of around 12 scouts who will monitor the form of county cricketers up and down the country.
Angus Fraser and Mick Newell will be leaving the selection panel to continue their roles as directors of cricket at Middlesex and Nottinghamshire respectively.
England's head coach, Trevor Bayliss, will remain on the selection panel.
The changes, driven by ECB director of cricket Andrew Strauss, are part of the biggest overhaul of England's scouting network in years.
It was reported last month that Warwickshire's director of cricket Ashley Giles had turned down the chance to become the new senior selector.
