Sky Sports Cricket's Nasser Hussain and Stuart Broad give out their player awards for the 2026 men's Hundred campaign, while Lydia Greenway looks at the women's competition...

Best local player

Stuart Broad:

"Jos Buttler is into the eliminator with Manchester Super Giants. Batting three, he's scored vital runs at vital times.

"He's England's best-ever white-ball batter. He's the icon of that MSG franchise.

"He's a leader in that changing room and he's got a chance of lifting the trophy."

Nasser Hussain:

"Ben Duckett went straight to the final with Trent Rockets and avoided the eliminator. That's how well he's played.

"Top of the order, he plays spin, plays fast bowling, hits it in unusual areas. He's been brilliant in the field.

"Also, at the top of the order, the way he's set the tone for that middle order of the Trent Rockets, it's just nice to see Duckett playing with such confidence and such flair.

I mentioned his fielding as well, which we do have a section on, but he's been excellent. I'm very impressed."

Lydia Greenway:

"I've gone for the leading wicket taker in the tournament, Tilly Corteen-Coleman. I think she's taken 13 wickets.

"The reason I picked her, she's just been really consistent. Not just this season but over the last couple of seasons.

"It's great to see her top of the tree with the wickets."

Best overseas player

Stuart Broad:

"Mitch Marsh has played some really eye-catching innings. He's batting at one of the best batting services in the country at Headingley, and he's been really entertaining.

"He's done exactly what you want an overseas player at the top of the order to do. He's led from the front. He's set the tone. He's guided his teams to win.

"His average is higher when they win than when they lose, which means he's playing a key role in winning games. Look at his strike rate, nearly 170.

"So I think he's been really crucial and a really clever signing."

Nasser Hussain:

"Mitch Marsh. Compare his consistency to someone like Harry Brook. Now, Harry's a very fine player, but a lot of his runs have come at Headingley on that belter of a surface.

"Mitch Marsh knows Headingley well, he's got Test runs there. He loves it, but he's also gone away from home at Trent Bridge, Manchester. He's got runs all around the country.

"I like the way he's a very simple person. He's a very simple player. You pitch it up, he belts it straight back past you. You drop your length back just a fraction and he'll pull you for six.

"I just love the way he keeps it very simple. And for an Aussie, he's a really nice top bloke."

Lydia Greenway:

"Overseas player has to be Phoebe Litchfield. She's obviously the leading run scorer, and the way she's gone out and dominated bowling attacks has been really entertaining to watch.

"She looks as if she's in the form of her life. She's the hardest player to set a field to in the competition.

"She hits straight down the ground, she hits behind square and then she can open up square of the wicket on both sides. She's got that ridiculous switch hit.

"If I was a captain against her, I would literally have no idea where to set the field to. She's absolutely the player in form at the moment."

Best newcomer

Nasser Hussain:

"Mitch Marsh is new to The Hundred. This is the first year he's played in The Hundred. So if he's new and he's come here from Australia, I have him as a newcomer.

"He had never played a Hundred game before this, I'm taking his age away from it."

Stuart Broad:

"I've gone for a young player who's had his first go, not in franchise cricket but in The Hundred, LD Pretorius.

"No one's really seen him in England, not really heard of him. He's not scored Ashes centuries.

"Pretorius, to me, he's playing on a difficult surface at Lord's, he's played some beautiful shots.

"He's got clear strength through the offside. A pick-up over square leg, which is fantastic.

"He's a really stylish player, and he's one of those newcomers the world of cricket will know a lot of in five years' time."

Lydia Greenway:

"I've gone for Charley Phillips. She has come in and really made the most of her opportunity. She's taken some big scalps as well within the seven wickets she's taken.

"And she's bowled in different phases of the game."

Best value for money

Nasser Hussain:

"I've gone Calvin Harrison, because he came in late as a replacement player.

"Around about £31,000 was the replacement figure. And he's bowled beautifully. He's got eight wickets.

"He's fielded really well, we've seen some of his extraordinary catches, but I just think to come in at the last moment and play, he's a real talented cricketer.

"That's someone England should be looking at across formats. He bats very well - he hasn't had much chance with the bat because the Trent Rockets have been so good - but value for money, I'm going Calvin Harrison and what he's done for the Trent Rockets."

Stuart Broad:

"I completely agree with Nasser. Calvin Harrison's been absolutely superb and now it's my time to be honest and say I've got this completely wrong with Adil Rashid, because he's on £250k to play!

"Yes, he's been very successful but as Nasser, I think, got newcomer wrong, I might have got value for money wrong because a quarter of a million pounds is quite a lot of money for eight games.

"He's been fantastic, Adil Rashid, as he was going to be.

"He's one of those players that I think every single team would have been talking about at the start of the auction. You know what you're going to get. He just delivers time after time.

"His leg spin, which is always crucial. We're in a dry spell, so it's going to spin a little bit more.

"He's one of those players that could have gone for a lot more. When you're talking about Harry Brook at £465k, Jofra Archer at £450k at the same franchise, that's where I sneaked in my value for money, because he's virtually half the price of Archer, but he performs.

Lydia Greenway:

"I've gone for Charley Phillips again here. I think she was a bargain at £15k.

"It's brilliant to see a player like her in the form that she's been in.

"And the wickets that I've mentioned, she's got big wickets. She's got Sophie Devine, Georgia Voll has been in there, Phoebe Litchfield as well, Hollie Armitage.

"So she's just been able to go in, has got quite a slingy action and just hits the top of off-stump. So it's been a pleasure to watch."

Love to watch

Nasser Hussain:

"Adil Rashid. Because in an era when spin bowlers have to bowl it quickly, have to bowl it into the surface, I still love the fact that Adil Rashid is brave enough to toss the ball up with all the variations.

"He's right at the top of his game, in an era where spinners sometimes just bowl darts.

"Adil Rashid, love watching him."

Stuart Broad:

"Trent Boult. He's done a few quirky things on the field, celebrations. He particularly upset Jonny Bairstow at Lords, but that was his ball of the tournament for me, the inswinger into the bottom of leg stump.

"I spoke to Jonny and think it was a bit of choice language that sent him off, but that's what Trent does. He's a little bit unusual at times, but he's an incredible bowler.

"I'm just drawn to him. Every time he gets a new ball in his hand, something's going to happen.

"There was a wonderful anti-fist pump that I saw with Mitch Santner. He put it in, Mitch came out, he withdrew it, and it was all a bit awkward, but Trent found that really funny."

Lydia Greenway:

"I've gone Nat Sciver-Brunt. The fact she hasn't always played the games, obviously she has been managing that calf injury, but when she comes in she looks as if she's never been away from the game.

"I was watching her in her last game and she wheeled out a reverse sweep first ball and it just shows the class of her, not to just get a score under her belt, but to do it at a decent strike rate.

"She's a player I always enjoy watching. Strong off the back foot, can play little dink shots, but manages the situation, manages the tempo and offers a huge amount obviously for the Rockets."

Best fielder

Nasser Hussain:

"I'll fix this a little bit, because Chris Jordan, for me, is the best fielder and has been throughout The Hundred every year, but I just could not leave out this catch from Will Jacks.

"It was Pretorius at the crease, and he was batting really well, and the members were sat watching that right in front of them.

"The first bit of the catch was hard, the second bit was remarkable."

Stuart Broad:

"Catches are easier than run-outs, so that's why I chose this from Ben Duckett.

"A brilliant bit of work from Duckett, diving to his left, picking the ball up, throwing it when he's turning, and most importantly, it doesn't matter if you run out Trent Boult but it does matter if you run out Nicky Pooran.

"A brilliant bit of work to hit the stumps when you only have one to aim at. I thought that really changed that game."

Lydia Greenway:

"I've gone for Bess Heath actually. In terms of number of catches, she isn't up there, but I love her approach.

"For any young girl, if you're at a ground and you're watching Heath, you can tell she's got that mentality of wanting the ball to come to her.

"She doesn't shy away from catches. She made one absolutely stunning catch. A lot of players would have sat back, they would have let it bounce once and would have taken the ball and it wouldn't have even been an opportunity.

"She's been a real sort of entertainer and energetic person in the field, which adds so much value to a team when you're out there."

Best captain

Stuart Broad:

"Sam Billings. He's won the last three Hundred titles with Oval Invincibles, he's gone to Trent Rockets, and first of all it was a brilliant signing from Trent Rockets, knowing his leadership capability.

"Once he's been given the role at a ground that he's not captained in a huge amount at before, Trent Bridge, he's got to know what the crowd like, he's got to know the surface very well.

"He leads his players brilliantly, they're top of the table, deserve to be top of the table, straight to the final, which was always the goal for the Trent Rockets, and he's got a hell of a chance to go four from four."

Nasser Hussain:

"Sam Billings. I like his aggression and the fact he's got a point to prove.

"He did an interview after he beat MI London - he was there for three years and unceremoniously sacked by them, let's be honest, after everything he'd done - and he's gone to his next franchise and he's proving a point.

"He loves this tournament. It's almost the latter stages of his career, it's what makes Sam Billings the cricketer he is."

Lydia Greenway:

"I've actually gone for Dani Gibson because if people remember the SunRisers Leeds went on a run of three losing games. They couldn't get a win for love nor money, but she and her team managed to turn it around.

"They're now finding some form at a really good time.

"For someone like Dani Gibson, it's the first time she's captain in a tournament on this sort of stage, so I've loved how she's done it.

"I love how she's spoken to the media and just the energy that she brings on the field.

"Tactically, clearly she'll always be learning. She's obviously got Adrian Birrell, who she's working closely with as a head coach. I've really enjoyed watching her this season."
