Middlesex have confirmed a one-year contract for promising wicket-keeper Stephen Eskinazi.
The 20-year-old, who was born in South Africa, has spent the last two years on a scholarship contract and his impressive performances and continued development have now been rewarded with a full contract.
During the course of the past two seasons Eskinazi has been the top run scorer in 2nd XI cricket for Middlesex CCC - amassing more than 2,100 runs in total - and has taken almost 100 catches and stumpings.
Middlesex CCC's Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said: "It has been very satisfying to see Stephen continue to develop and make progress as a cricketer. He is a very dedicated and motivated young man and we are delighted to have him on board.
"Stephen has worked extremely hard since arriving with us from Australia and he thoroughly deserves this new deal. If he continues to improve it will not be long before he is putting first team players under pressure for their positions."
