Ram Slam T20 Challenge in numbers: here's how it breaks down

Sunday sees the start of South Africa's highly popular T20 competition as the six franchises tackle each other hoping to knock the 2014-15 champions, Cape Cobras, off their perch.

This is the 13th edition of the tournament and will see Durban-based Dolphins, the Knights from Bloemfontein join the Highveld Lions from Johannesburg and local rivals Centurion side Titans up against Eastern Cape outfit Warriors and the reigning champions Cape Cobras.

Below are a few stats to mark your card ahead of the first ball ….

8 - the number of teams that have played in the tournament in the previous 12 years. Zimbabwe joined the six franchises in 2007/08 for one season while Impi, captained by Paul Collingwood, battled through the 2011/12 campaign without winning a game

32 - matches in the 2015/2016 tournament across 42 days and 11 venues

107 - days since Kevin Pietersen played his last competitive cricket match. He will be returning to his old stomping ground of Durban with the Dolphins
