Bangladesh v England: Watch the story of day three from Chittagong
Sunday 23 October 2016 08:59, UK
England stretched their lead over Bangladesh to 273 runs by the end of day three of the first Test in Chittagong.
Click on the video above to watch the best of the action as Ben Stokes struck a crucial 85 as to help England to 228-8 in their second innings by stumps.
It capped a stellar all-round performance from Stokes after he's helped Alastair Cook's side secure a potentially crucial 45-run first innings lead, taking three of the final five Bangladesh wickets to fall in the morning session, finishing with 4-26 in the innings.
England got off to a brilliant start as Shakib Al Hasan (31) inexplicably charged down the pitch to Moeen Ali (3-75) from the second ball of the day and was easily stumped by Jonny Bairstow.
Adil Rashid (2-58) then had night-watchman Shafiul Islam caught by Stuart Broad before Stokes took over to bring the innings to a swift end; Bangladesh all out for 248.
England slipped to 28-3 at lunch, and 62-5 soon after, but some dogged batting from Stokes - ably assisted by Bairstow (47) in a 127-run stand for the sixth wicket - helped the tourists gradually grow their lead.
Stokes fell 15 short of a well-deserved ton, while Kamrul Islam (1-54) removed Bairstow to claim a first Test wicket, and Shakib (5-79) picked up a five-for with the wicket of Rashid late on, but England are in the driving seat going into day four.
