At lunch on day three England were on top, by the end of day four they look destined for defeat. Here is all you need to know from the Gabba...

REPORT

Australia need just 56 more to win the first Ashes Test, closing on 114-0 after bowling England out for 195 at the Gabba.

WHAT THEY SAID

Moeen Ali, England all-rounder: "I thought I was okay [on the stumping decision], personally, but the replay did look very tight and obviously I'm disappointed with myself to get out in that fashion. I was most disappointed with the time I got out, I thought me and Jonny [Bairstow] were just building a good partnership.

"I think the first three days, we were right in the game and today just didn't go to plan - and that's cost us this Test match. Tomorrow we're just going to have come and try and get a few wickets. Obviously we probably won't win the game but we have to get a few wickets and try a put a dent in Australia ahead of the next game."

Mitchell Starc, Australia seamer: "It was obviously a great day for our team. To finish the way we did with the bat, none down with only 56 to win, it's a great feeling among the group. There is a bit of work to do in the morning on a wicket that we knew was going to get a bit flatter and a bit quicker.

"To get the rewards we did with the ball was fantastic. We really stuck to our plan, as we discussed after the first innings, on a wicket that we thought was pretty slow and a bit soft, we adjusted our game plan a little bit. As a bowling unit we were really happy with how we went."
